Description

The goal is to show how Agile Methodologies like Scrum are derived from an old concept developed in the early 1990 by James Martin. The old concept is called RAD that stands for Rapid Application Development. This concept contains most of the elements of an Agile Approach like Scrum combined with eXtreme Programming. We will show the strengths and weaknesses of the classical methodologies (Water fall, V) as well as of RAD and Agile methodologies, and explain why there was a real need for IT organizations to jump to Agile for certain types of applications. We will also briefly talk about complex systems and show why the traditional approaches do work properly to develop applications in such systems. 10 to 12 slides.
