Biography

Geeta Pahalajani has an industry experience of 7.5 years. She has been with Tata Consultancy Services Limited for 1.5 years. She loves mythology. As a kid, she was obsessed with myth and wanted to be a mythologist. Then she realized, she really just liked stories. That's how she possibly became a product owner ;). OK, Just kidding. Geeta is a blooming product owner. The varied challenges and the constantly changing nature of the job attracted her towards the role. An Agile enthusiast, Geeta now wants to focus on helping other teams in the implementation of Agile in a natural, creative and an effective way. Academically, she is a mathematics graduate and has an MS is software from BITS Pilani.

Description

A dramatic attempt on demystifying the myths of an agile product owner and getting to the core. This is just a curtain raiser out of pandora's box of myths. The talk aims to take the audience through the varied myths plaguing the role, agile teams, product development and demystify each myth as we walk along. One of the examples of a myth concerning a product owner : There is a huge misunderstanding about a product owners role. A product owner is a tester, business analyst, customers proxy, project manager, product manager etc etc. Is a Product Owner jack of all trades? I intend to present this in an interactive fashion by using games/role play and debates to spice up the delivery.

Prerequisites

Agile, Scrum knowledge.

The audience will get an insight into the different myths plaguing the role, agile teams, product development etc.. Different tips and tricks to avoid any pitfalls. At the same time the talk aims to sensitize the audience on the ground realities.
